White Moss manufactures quality composts from composted recycled green waste which is acquired from local councils and landscapers. We take in over 150,000 tonnes per year which would be lost to landfill.
White Moss Horticulture
Bord na Móna is pleased to confirm the acquisition of one of the UK’s most successful horticulture companies, White Moss Horticulture Limited (WMH).
WMH is one of the largest Green Waste composting companies in the UK, manufacturing composts and other growing media, supplying large national retail outlets, landscapers, amenity companies and hobby gardeners with sustainable products.
Bord na Móna CEO Mike Quinn said “this acquisition helps support the sustainability of our retail horticulture business. Vitally, it will underpin Irish jobs and continued production across the group and within the broader horticulture business.
Bringing White Moss on board provides Bord na Móna Horticulture with the opportunity to strengthen its position in the UK retail market. It also helps sustain the business into the future by delivering security of non-peat feedstock supply and a competitive supply chain model that drives value in operations and logistics.”
White Moss Horticulture is the leading manufacturer of quality compost and growing media, made from recycled green materials making our products environmentally friendly and excellent value for money. We operate major production facilities in both the North and South of the country. These strategic locations, unique in our industry, allow for efficient national distribution to satisfy the largest retailers’ demands.
Our facility in the North West of England is the only site in the U.K. to combine large scale composting, substrate manufacture and bag production all on one site. This aids White Moss and our customers to achieve competitive costs and the lowest carbon footprint possible.
