In line with our commitment to becoming the industry’s most environmentally aware company White Moss Horticulture now include a “How Green Is This Product?” guide on all new growing media packaging. We strive to be at the forefront of sustainable gardening and as a part of this we have introduced this chart.

This chart identifies the level of peat that is contained in the compost between the following ranges:

0% - zero peat
1-25% - low peat
26-75% - reduced peat
75+% - high peat

White Moss are full members of the Growing Media Initiative (GMI).  To earn this status a business has to have achieved 55% peat reduction in retail bagged products and that have an audited Action Plan detailing progress and how they are publicising their goals on peat replacement both internally and to customers. Last year White Moss achieved more than 80% peat alternative use and our aim is to be 100% peat free by 2015. For more information on the GMI please follow the link.
