We at White Moss Horticulture are pleased to announce the opening of our green waste composting facility.
White Moss has always been looking at alternatives to peat, a task made harder by the fact that peat is such an ideal growing media substrate.
A wide range of products and materials have been studied and although some have shown promise in one particular area or another it has been very difficult to find a material which meets all the criteria for a good growing media substrate.
As the result of extensive laboratory and field work we now believe to have arrived at a point where we have several materials which either individually or in blends will provide genuine alternatives to peat either as peat-free or peat reduced products.
All the above mentioned work has led us to make substantial investment in several areas of alternative growing media products. The main one of these has been our new green waste composting facility which has provided us with the country's largest integrated peat and green compost blending plant dedicated to producing horticultural products.
